KREI, APEC Climate Center Signed MOU

The Korea Rural Economic Institute (KREI, President Kim Changgil) and the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Climate Center (APCC, President Jung Hongsang) concluded a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for Research Cooperation Regarding Climate Change Responses in Agriculture and Forestry at KREI (Naju, Jeollanam-do) Tuesday, June 27.
Through this MOU, the two institutions will cooperate in research projects for the agricultural and forestry sectors’ responses to abnormal climate and climate change; share information on domestic and foreign projects for enhancing the sectors’ ability to respond to abnormal climate and climate change and develop joint projects; jointly develop and operate international education and training programs; and exchange researchers.
KREI and the APEC Climate Center begin full-scale collaborative activities with a joint research project on the introduction of locally customized climate-smart agriculture techniques in Laos, Southeast Asia, in the second half of 2017.
