KREI, KEI Signed MOU with 10 RAS-affiliated Research Institutes




The Korea Rural Economic Institute (President Kim Changgil) and the Korea Environment Institute (KEI) jointly concluded a memorandum of understanding with 10 research institutions affiliated to the Russian Academy of Sciences in the main conference room of KEI on November 21.

KREI, KEI, and the 10 Russian institutes including the following attended the signing ceremony, and signed the MOU for partnerships: Federal State Budgetary Institution of Science Yakut Scientific Centre of Siberian Branch of Russian Academy of Sciences; Federal State Autonomous Educational Institution of Higher Education M. K. Ammosov North-Eastern Federal University; Federal State Budgetary Institution of Science Baikal Institute of Nature Management of Siberian Branch of Russian Academy of Sciences; and Federal State Budgetary Institution of Science Pacific Institute of Geography of Far Eastern Branch of Russian Academy of Sciences.

Through this MOU, KREI will carry out joint research and information exchange with Russia. Concretely, this agreement has laid a foundation for establishing a mutual cooperation system for research on agricultural production and resource structures, the green economy for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, responses to climate change, and the assessment of changes in nature and artificial landscape. KREI President Kim Changgil emphasized that he expects Russia's practical cooperation with Korea with many merits due to geographic proximity, saying, "Russia is spurring development and investment promotion with the development of the Far East region as the country's new growth engine."
