The Korea Rural Economic Institute (KREI) hosted a KREI Field Forum on "Vitalizing Hub APCs for Agricultural Income Increase and Local Food Expansion" on December 18 in the main hall of Suncheon Agricultural Cooperative.

Hub APCs (Agricultural Products Processing Centers) are important infrastructures for Korea's agricultural development, having a function of productive and efficient marketing. However, many of the facilities show low rates of operation, and to improve this situation, it is necessary to expand farmers' participation and contract cultivation and cooperate with private companies.

Most attendees at the event agreed that farmers' interest and participation are needed to increase their income and invigorate the regional economy by vitalizing hub APCs.
