The Korea Rural Economic Institute hosted a talk concert on “70 Years Since Liberation: Past and Future of Agriculture and Rural Communities” with the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and the National Agricultural Cooperative Federation (NACF) on July 10 in NACF’s main building in Seoul. Diverse specialists attended the event.
The first session’s theme was "70 Years Since Independence: Development and Regrowth of Korean Agriculture." The participants of the relay talk after the presentation agreed that Korean agriculture has greatly contributed to national development for 70 years since liberation. However, they recognized agriculture’s difficult reality in contrast to Korea’s striking economic growth and NACF’s problems that have been continually raised as tasks to address. The second session’s topic was "70 Years Since Independence: Changes in and Outlook for Rural Communities." The attendees agreed that young people’s participation is needed to solve various problems in farming and farm villages.
