KREI News

KREI President Choi Sei-kyun met Dutch Ambassador to Korea Lody Embrechts at the President’s Office, KREI on May 18 and discussed major issues for Korean agriculture’s advancement and cooperation measures in the two countries’ agriculture.

The two people shared opinions that for Korean agriculture’s development, agricultural education and training systems should be strengthened so that young, able people can participate in farming and that agriculture should develop as a high value industry, linked with cutting-edge technology including ICT and BT. They also agreed that agriculture-related firms with high technical skills should prepare plans to expand their role in farming and cooperate with farmers.

In addition, the two people decided to seek for cooperative ways such as joint research and seminars for agricultural development of the Netherlands with advanced, global agriculture systems and Korea pushing forward with agriculture’s future growth industrialization.
