The Korea Rural Economic Institute (KREI) received the Excellent Research Institute Award on May 15, 2015 at the 2014 award ceremony of research institution evaluation by the National Research Council for Economics, Humanities and Social Sciences. KREI was also chosen as the Outstanding Institution In the Field of Management among 26 research institutions in the areas of economic policies, resource infrastructure, human resources, and public policy under the Office for Government Policy Coordination.
Also, research director Kim Chang-gil in KREI’s Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Research got an Excellent Research Project Award with “Establishment of Sustainable Agriculture System in Korea (Year 2 of 2).” Research director Jeong Min-kook (Planning & Coordination Office Director) won an Outstanding National Policy Project Award with “The Livestock Industry’s Countermeasures against the Korea-Commonwealth FTA.”
KREI’s 2014 rural and agricultural research projects and contribution to national policies were recognized with the prizes. KREI was selected as the excellent research institute three years in a row, as the best institution in 2012 and outstanding institute in 2013.
