The Korea Rural Economic Institute (KREI) had a research information exchange meeting with a visiting group of 13 people from Bhutan including Agriculture and Forestry Secretary Tenzin Dhendup at the medium conference room on August 29. At the meeting, Dr. Park Shi-hyun of KREI made a presentation on “Saemaul Movement and Changes in Rural Development Policies,” and Researcher Cho Han-seul introduced the KAPEX (Korean Agricultural Policy Experiences for Food Security) program, and a Q and A session followed.

At the event, the establishment of a cooperative relationship for Bhutan’s rural development and food security was discussed. The visiting party showed interest in the rural development project and the KAPEX program that KREI is implementing. Before the meeting, the secretary and his party discussed the two countries’ agricultural issues with KREI President Choi.
