KREI President Choi Sei-kyun inspected the area in Jeju affected by pine wilt disease in the morning on Feb. 19. KREI personnel including Seok Hyun-deok, director of the Department of Forest Policy Research, and Han Suk-ho, director of the Agricultural Trend and Policy Analysis Office, also visited the site with Go Yeong-bok, director of the Environment and Green Zone Division of Jeju Island, Jeong Gyu-won, vice-president of the Association of Forest Engineers, and Choi Gwang-sik, a researcher of the Korea Forest Research Institute. President Choi listened to the damage, and ordered follow-up studies such as improvement plans of the pine wilt disease prevention system and measures to use the damaged trees.
