The Korea Rural Economic Institute (KREI) hosted an on-site forum on August 7 at Yongjin Nonghyup, an agricultural co-operative in Wanju, Jeollabukdo, to identify and discuss improvement tasks and directions for the development of the local food industry.
At the forum, government and Nonghyup officials, and academic and research experts, as well as local farmers, had the opportunity to discuss challenges and development directions of the local food industry.
Starting with the forum in Yongjin, KREI plans to host four or more similar forums in the remaining second half of this year to highlight and discuss successful cases of rural development.
