Policy Discussion on Infrastructure Maintenance 
for Agricultural Production


 The Korea Rural Economic Institute (KREI) held a policy forum on November 30 to discuss optimal needs and ways of maintaining the agricultural production base. KREI President Lee Dong-Phil welcomed the participants and asked them to engage in in-depth discussions to find a direction for building the future production base. Chung Hae-Chang, director general of Rural Research Institute of Korea Rural Community Corporation, delivered a congratulatory message. 

   Senior KREI researcher Kim Jeong-Ho gave a keynote presentation and Kim Sun-Joo, professor of Konkuk University, presided the discussions following the presentation. The panelists participating in the discussions were Kim Gil-Young, section chief for infrastructure development at the Ministry for Food, Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Kim Jin-Soo, professor at Chungbuk University, Park Si-Ryong, editorial writer of Seoul Economic Daily, Lee Gwan-Ho, irrigation facility safety management director of Korea Rural Community Corporation, Lee Woo-Man, director of Rural Development Research Institute of Korea Rural Community Corporation, Lee Tae-Ho, professor at Seoul National University, and Jang Byung-Soo, policy committee chair of Korean Farmers' Solidarity.
