The Korea Rural Economic Institute was selected as the recipient of Prime Minister's Award for Research Excellence on March 3 among the 23 member institutions of the National Research Council for Economics, Humanities and Social Sciences. KREI won the award for having contributed to the development of national policy issues. Senior researcher Park Sung-Jae won the Order of Civil Merit (Dongbaek Medal) for having contributed to the development of policy measures and institutional improvement of agricultural financing to stabilize the farm economy and make advancement in the financial sector.
