[NEWS] A Plaque Ceremony Held for the 12th World Congress of Rural Sociology |

A plaque ceremony was held at the Korea Rural Economic Institute on February 26 to herald the opening of the secretary’s office for the 12th World Congress of Rural Sociology.
With the holding of the ceremony, the organizing committee is now fully engaged in a mission to prepare for the event to be held at KINTEX in Ilsan on July 6-11, 2008.
Dr. Chung Ki-Whan, senior researcher at KREI, will serve as the chairman of the organizing committee, and Dr. Heo Jang as the secretary.
The Korea Rural Economic Institute (Choi Jung-Sup, president) and the Korea Rural Sociological Society (Kim Tai-Hun, chairman) are the co-hosts of the world congress. The previous congress was held in Trondheim,Norway in 2004.
