The KREI will provide the rural development training to public officials of four Southwest Asian countries in cooperation with KOICA from July 20 to August 4.
15 people composed of rural development public officials and NGO officials from Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, and Pakistan are participating in the program. They will have lectures on the Korea's economic development process, rural development, and the rural village improvement movement called 'Saemaul Undong', and will be given the opportunity to find ways to apply the case study of Korea to rural development strategies of each country.
During the training period, on top of lectures, discussions and seminars will be held on various subjects. The simulation program of applying the Korean style rural development methods to each country of the participants will be provided.
Trainees are scheduled to visit agriculture-related organizations and leading rural villages including the Korea Rural Community & Agriculture Cooperation (KRC), the Rural Development Administration (RDA), the Cheonan Agricultural Cooperative, Saemaul Village in Naechon-ri, Yicheon, and the environment-friendly village.
