KREI News

On November 9th, the Korea Rural Economic Institute (KREI) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the International Grains Council (IGC) based in London, United Kingdom.

The IGC serves as an international organization for cooperation in the grain trade sector, responsible for transparent information production and sharing of generated information related to grain trade. The IGC has members from major grain-exporting and importing countries, including South Korea and the EU.

Through this MOU with the IGC, the institute plans to enhance responsiveness by swiftly exchanging information in case of urgent issues in the international grain trade market. The two institutions have agreed to discuss the joint hosting of the '2024 IGC Conference' and 'Asia Regional Conference,' and have reached an agreement to co-host the '2024 first-half online workshop.'

President Han Doo Bong said, "KREI will actively collaborate with influential global institutions and international organizations to reduce uncertainties in the Korean grain market and conduct comprehensive research."
