The National Research Council for Economics, Humanities and Social Sciences under the Prime Minister’s Office on April 12 (Wed.) held the 340th board of directors meeting and appointed Han Doobong president of the Korea Rural Economic Institute (KREI).

President Han held various posts including director of KREI’s Agricultural Trend and Policy Analysis Office; president of Korea University’s Center for Teaching and Learning; president of the Korea Agricultural Economics Association; advisor for the Presidential Transition Committee’s second economic subcommittee; and member of the Council for Deliberation on Agricultural Trade Policies of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs.

The new president’s tenure is three years from April 12, 2023 to April 11, 2026.
