The Korea Rural Economic Institute (KREI) held briefings for four regions of the country to communicate with various people concerned in each region and collect their opinions on the Rural Spatial Restructuring and Regeneration Support Bill from November 17. Before the enactment of the new law, the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Rural Affairs (MAFRA) and KREI jointly hosted and organized the briefings in the Chungcheong region (November 17), the Gyeongsang region (November 23), the Gyeonggi and Gangwon region (November 30), and Jeolla and Jeju region (December 6).
In each briefing, KREI explained the background and legislation direction of the rural spatial planning system, and MAFRA made a presentation on the main contents of the bill and its future implementation plan. Next, each region’s case presentations followed with a question and answer session with working-level officials in sis (cities) and guns (counties).
