The first prediction modeling competition for agricultural produce supply and demand, hosted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food, and Rural Affairs and co-sponsored by KREI and the Korean Agricultural Economics Association, ended successfully on July 2. The event was prepared to gather the participants’ creative ideas to develop various supply-demand prediction models and set up a data-based precise outlook platform for advanced agricultural observation. 44 candidates submitted research plans by the end of January this year. Those selected through the primary paper screening conducted research for 100 days. After their research outcomes went through the paper screening and the presentation test, sixteen candidates were selected as final winners.
