KREI Signed MOU to Expand Local Food Supply
MAFRA, Public Institutions, Jeollanam-do, Naju Concluded MOU for Virtuous Circle System of Food and Balanced Win-Win Development
The Korea Rural Economic Institute (KREI, President Kim Changgil) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on the expansion of local food supply to public institutions in Bitgaram Innovative City for the “Establishment of a Virtuous Circle System of Food and Balanced Win-Win Development” with the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (MAFRA), Jeollanam-do, and Naju-si at KEPCO KDN, Nov. 14.
Through this MOU, public institutions in Bitgaram Innovative City, including KREI, are expected to realize social value such as securing safe, fresh food, increasing small and medium farmers’ income, creating local jobs including processing, and reducing distribution costs and food mileage by consuming local agricultural products in their cafeterias and so on.
