Purpose
○This study was conducted to present ways to improve rural sustainability for youth over a period of two years. In the first year of research, the current status of rural youths, their living conditions, migration, and happiness in urban and rural areas, the relationship between youth and rural sustainability, and the needs of young people in rural areas were examined. The second-year research focused on formulating a strategy to bolster rural sustainability among the younger generations. This involved examining policies about rural youth, analyzing the distinctive features of areas undergoing rural revitalization, evaluating perceptions and requirements concerning the involvement of rural youth, and scrutinizing ideas for rural revitalization proposed by the youth, along with domestic and international instances. The specific goals of the second year of research were as follows:
-First, to analyze the policies related to rural youth (youth and rural policies).
-Second, to analyze the characteristics of youth-activated rural areas.
-Third, to analyze the perceptions and demands of rural youth regarding their role in the community.
-Fourth, to analyze rural revitalization ideas proposed by rural youth.
-Fifth, to develop policy measures for rural youth to increase sustainability.
