서 론
The major research methods include the collection and analysis of existing data, field survey, in-depth interview, and so on. The existing data were collected from related governmental organizations and research institutes. The field survey was conducted among 500 rural residents, asking them about their awareness on the bi-polarization of rural society. Descriptive statistics such as frequencies, percentage, and means and cross-classification tables were used to summarize the data of the field survey.
According to this study, on the whole, the bi-polarization of rural society has deepened. The bi-polarization in income, employment, health, residence, and social participation has deepened. But, the bi-polarization in education was alleviated. Major causes of the bi-polarization were the lack of job opportunities, the difference of income and economic ability, and so on.
Major policy tasks to solve the bi-polarization of rural society are as follows: 1) A multi-dimensional approach is necessary. 2) Policies should be developed by the type of rural areas. 3) Post and prior measures are necessary. 4) The social safety net for the poor weak hierarchy should be reinforced. 5) Midand long term socioeconomic measures are necessary.
