This study is to improve the commodity outlook model of the Korea Rural Economic Institute, i.e. KREI-COMO, which was developed to produce mid- and long-term forecasts of demand, supply and price of each commodity.
This study renews the statistical and market data sets and re-estimates the model. It improves the structure of the KREI-COMO to modify functional forms and change variables. The model consists of acreage response functions, yield functions, and price flexibility functions. In particular, the KREI-COMO 2005 includes import demand functions.
