The Agricultural Outlook Information Center(AOIC) developed information systems in 2002. However they suffered from inconveniency and time-consuming problems.
There has been some trial to tackle those problems and improve the systems. In 2004, AOIC improves data collection system by adopting a digital way in the sense that it uses web and PDA(Personal Digital Assistant) intensively, instead using an analog one which uses telephone, facsimile, etc.
This project is to develop an integrated agricultural outlook information system which is named the "Outlook & Agricultural Statistics Information System(OASIS)." The integrated system is developed so as to collect, process, and distribute data conveniently and intuitively.
This report is consisted of three main sections: 1) Outline of an integration of Agricultural Outlook Information Systems, 2) Improvement of data survey and management function using digital facsimile, SMS(Short Message Service), PDA(Personal Digital Assistant), accounting system, and 3) A production and distribution of intuitive information via OLAP(On-Line Analytical Processing) and GIS(Geographic Information System).
