Rural Proofing on After School Policy and Women Economic Activity Policy

This study was to investigate the discriminative effects between rural and urban area of major central government policies(After School Policy and Women Economic Activity Policy) and to suggest improvement measures in terms of rural perspective.
For the purpose, this study employed following 5 phases: related statistics and research reviewing; policy analysis and performance target identifying; performance gap analyzing between rural and urban area; problem finding in terms of rural perspective(low accessability, low population density, small and isolated businesses, agriculture-based economic activity, lack of public resource, human and social capital shortage); and improvement measures developing.
This study suggested three measures for the after school policy of Ministry of Education, Science and Technology: school bus integration by education district; best private instructors supporting system; and rural after school intermediary organization reinforcement.
Also, following three measures for the women economic activity policy of Ministry of Gender Equality of Family were put forward: rural economy specific employment opportunities identifying and related information providing system; women reemployment support center undesignated rural area complementary support; and stable intermediary organization system for rural women job creation project.
