The Korea Rural Economic Institute holds the 16th Forum on International Agricultural Partnership on “agricultural technical cooperation: its role, performance, and improvement direction” on Dec. 22.
 

The 2005 Paris Declaration presented capacity development as one of the most important priority projects between donor and partner countries. Particularly, in the international society’s discussion on South-South cooperation and aid effectiveness, the importance of technical cooperation for developing countries’ capacity development is being stressed.
 

In particular, major donor countries have implemented technical cooperation projects, including technical support, the dispatch of experts, and education and training, to enhance developing countries’ capacity. Among the projects, the ones in the agricultural sector are an important means to increase developing countries’ agricultural capacity in terms of achieving “no poverty and zero hunger” among the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
 

This forum aims to discuss ways to plan and implement effective and sustainable projects, especially in the technical cooperation sector among Korea’s international development cooperation projects related to agriculture.
