The Korea Rural Economic Institute (KREI) established a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Tropical Agricultural Research and Higher Education Centre (CATIE) in Costa Rica on January 7 local time.

KREI President Choi Sei-kyun and Director General Jose Joaquin Campos Arce of CATIE signed an MOU in front of the two institutions’ related staff members and agreed to promote exchange and cooperation. With this MOU as a momentum, KREI plans joint research and interchange with CATIE focused on agroforestry, biodiversity conservation, and rural development.

Korean ambassador to Costa Rica Chun Hong-jo and Deputy Minister Gina Paniagua Sanchez of Agriculture and Livestock of Costa Rica also attended the agreement signing ceremony.
