KREI held a kick-off meeting for 2015 on January 2 at the main conference room. In his New Year’s address, KREI President Choi Sei-kyun mentioned last year’s outcomes and things to be improved, this year’s research projects to be focused on, reorganization for the relocation to Naju, and the importance of creative thinking, and asked the employees to try harder.
President Choi said, “Last year, our institute played our role in many fields including rice tariffication, the Korea-China FTA, and the future growth industrialization and the sixth industrialization of agriculture, and achieved good results.” He pointed out stable supply and demand of agricultural products, dry-field farming development, animal disease management, the evaluation of market opening effects and export increases, preparation for unification, and the control of pine wood nematodes as agricultural policy tasks that should be concentrated on this year.
He also encouraged the staff, saying, “The ultimate goal of all our works is to enhance research quality” and “Let’s feel rewarded and take pride in our outstanding research results.”
