Korea-Japan Food Cooperation Roundtable Held

The Korea Rural Economic Institute (KREI) hosted the Korea-Japan Food Cooperation Roundtable on “New Value Discovery of Eastern Food Culture and Korea-Japan Cooperative Measures” in the Segyero Room of the Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation on September 4.

At the international seminar, four speakers of Korea and Japan presented the two countries’ cooperative cases and measures for joint responses to the global food market by comparing the two nations’ culinary tradition and promoting mutual understanding.

The Korean and Japanese parties concerned showed a deep interest in the features of the two countries’ foods and Eastern food culture’s common value in the discussion that day. Many of them also agreed that both public and private sectors needed active responses by discovering practical bilateral cooperation cases to effectively respond to the world food market rapidly expanding and to create a common new market, although immediate results may not appear.
