Organized by the Korea Rural Economic Institute and sponsored by the Ministry for Food, Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, the 8th Rural Policy Forum was held on December 12 at the aT Center under the theme of "Block Grants: How Should They Be Done?"
At the forum, KREI researcher Song Mi-Ryung said that since there are far too many plans cities and counties are required to make when in fact they are not so binding, it is necessary to integrate similar plans and make a plan tied with the budget.
At the general discussion presided by Prof. Choi Soo-Myung of Chonnam National University, government officials, experts and field activists showed high interest in the block grants and had lively discussions on how to improve the related system.
